Drupal 6 Themes and Drupal website development progress

I just finished up reading "Drupal 6 Themes" from Packt Publishing and if you have anything to do with the development of Drupal, and need a great reference, looking to expand your, or just catching up on how things are done with regards to Drupal 6 Themes then I suggest you check it out today.

Packt Publishing is a great place to get the information you need about Drupal amongst a vast library of other publications pertaining to many different types of products.

The best part is that it doesn't matter what level you are or what you are trying to accomplish they have the book for you. Whether it be a Module creation book or building robust drupal website, they have ebooks available for immediate download, you can buy a hard copy, or you can buy both, and save a ton when you do. If you are looking to buy multiple books at the same time they have great discounts available.

I found the Drupal 6 Themes book to be a great read, and I learned a ton of great information.

Below is a list of the chapters to get a very good idea of the contents of the book, and review the various sections available for your learning pleasure.

I plan on getting started with a custom theme for this site very soon, but there are a few other things I need to read up on to make it a really great theme.

You may be asking yourself what a Drupal 6 Theme book review is doing on a website dedicated to providing information about internet business products and I have to say, Drupal may possibly be one of the most important parts of my business, and could be the hub of your as well.

Drupal CMS platform has virtually endless possibilities when it come to the features, functions, and abilities of a CMS platform.

Coupled with unlimited design capabilities, and a plethora of contributed modules, Drupal is capable of just about anything you could ever want a content management system to do and more.

Whether your a blogger looking for a better platform or your own hosted blog, or a full fledged business who wants to provide web application for your users Drupal can handle it.

I especially like the social media features available via pre-existing modules like the Twitter Module that allows you announce updates to your site via your Twitter account, allow users to input their Twitter id and have their updates and friends timeline available from their profile page of the Drupal install.

The progress I have made with Drupal is amazing in that I have learned how to find information in the database, learned some PHP, and being introduced to extensive CSS information which will allow me to begin designing themes for Drupal.

With a ton of help from people in the Drupal community I have been able to get this site up and running, and I even had the opportunity of updating manually. Many of you may use Drupal via Fantastico, and so did I until I needed to update to newer versions due to security updates which Fantastico is notorious for taking their time updating.

I love Drupal, and everything about it including the wonderful community that surrounds it. In fact I love it so much, I am currently working on building a training resource site that provides video training, live training, links to Drupal ninja's that can take on your jobs, and the list goes on and on.

You may be wondering how or why someone who is not an expert can do something like this, well it's because of the wonderful community that surrounds Drupal, and my quest to provide a great resource for any and all Drupal users.

I hope you enjoy the book as much as I do if you decide to purchase it.

Sincerely,
Joshua Needham
